Bird Island is a small island located 65 miles north of the main island Mahe.
This tiny island is home to a colony of sooty terns which nest on the island from May to October every year.
Besides the sooty and terns and other 20 bird species, Bird Island also offers the perfect location for fishing in Seychelles.
Species such as Trevally and Bone fish can be caught off the shores. Fly fishing is offered for free! Clients must provide their own equipment. Deep sea fishing can be organized for a fee.
Bird Island Lodge located on the island offers 24 fan-cooled bungalows, restaurant, bar, boutique and library.
The Alphonse Atoll, lying south west of main island Mahe consists of three islands; namely Alphonse Island, Bijoutier and St. Francois forms part of the Alphonse atoll.
The large, shallow white sand flats around the atoll extend over 10,000 acres making for the perfect location for fishing.
Large populations of Bonefish, Giant Trevally, Dog-tooth Tuna, Barracuda and 50+ other species can be found in these waters.
What makes this location unique is that Alphonse Island Fishing Company only allows 12 anglers per week, offering a unique and exclusive fishing experience in Seychelles.
The daily fishing itinerary begins with a boat ride in Tam Tam, a 40 foot catamaran. Anglers then pair off with guides to fish at the multitude of sand flats around the atoll.
The accommodation at Alphonse Island Resort is top-notch, offering luxurious beachside chalets complete with plush beds, air conditioning, Jacuzzi baths and internet access.
Farquhar is the most southerly atoll, located 700 km south west of Mahe Island. Its ear-shaped lagoon is 18 km in length, with many flats between Ile du Nord and Ile du Sud.
